Mr. Burgiel is the President of BDR, one of the fastest growing emergency management consultancies in the nation. In this capacity, Mr. Burgiel manages the strategic direction of the organization as well as the day-to-day business operations of the firm. Mr. Burgiel’s expertise is founded on 25 years of consulting experience and progressive levels of management responsibilities with BDR’s parent company, R. W. Beck.

Since spinning off BDR as a wholly-owned subsidiary of R. W. Beck Group, Inc. in 2000, Mr. Burgiel has focused his efforts on building the firm into a world class emergency preparedness and disaster recovery organization by helping city, county, state and federal agencies, universities, hospitals and others in the public and private sector plan for, respond to and recover from disasters whether caused by acts of nature or human-hand. Mr. Burgiel is dedicated to attracting and retaining the top talent in the industry as well as investing in state-of-the-art tools and technologies in order to be able to deliver “best in class” services to clients based on the latest industry, government and regulatory standards.

In addition, Mr. Burgiel is active in a number of all-hazards, emergency management and disaster readiness trade organizations and frequently speaks on a wide range of topics including the need for pre-event planning, procurement strategies, contracting and FEMA reimbursement.
