Readying Our Clients
for the Future
November 2008 looms on the not-so-distant horizon, bringing with it fresh challenges and certain change for the people of this nation. And with a new President in the White House, the emergency management (EM) landscape will inevitably undergo an evolution of its own.
Also significant is the fact that in 2008, gubernatorial elections will be held in eleven U.S. states and two territories. The resulting administration changes stand to have a profound effect on the way individual states approach the issue of disaster preparedness.
At BDR, we recognize that it’s not enough to simply react to change. Rather, we must anticipate all the potential ways in which a new administration can and will impact the clients we serve. To make absolutely certain that our clients are up-to-date on the critical issues that affect them, we’ve established an internal team of stewards, each of whom are responsible for staying abreast of various aspects of emergency management policy—both existing and proposed.
Although we don’t expect emergency management policies will change overnight with the new administration, we do believe that any new initiatives will incite changes at all levels of government as well as in the private sector. These changes will impact each of our clients differently. Fortunately, BDR’s experience, flexibility and insight enable us to make timely recommendations that address each client’s unique needs and challenges. Moreover, as a leader in integrated emergency planning, our firm understands the interdependencies of organizations and policies and uses that knowledge to ensure that clients are optimally prepared for the worst-case scenario.
Helping communities respond to disasters is an integral part of what we do at BDR. Helping them respond to an ever-changing emergency management environment is just as vital. As we brace for a new chapter in America’s history, BDR is more committed than ever to staying on the cutting edge of disaster preparedness issues and to providing outstanding service to our clients.
