Mr. McLendon is the President of BDR with nearly 19 years of hands-on experience in program management services for all hazards mitigation, preparedness planning, response and recovery. Mr. McLendon is spearheading a multi-million dollar project on behalf of the City of New Orleans for the City’s post-Katrina residential demolition program. This includes the demolition of more than almost 14,000 flood-damaged, residential structures and is intended to reduce blight and assist the City with its economic recovery and repopulation.
As Program Manager, Mr. McLendon is responsible for overseeing the execution of the project including contract negotiations, hiring of local firms to meet the City’s M/W/DBE participation goals, attend meetings with the City’s Sewerage and Water Board, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and state and local historic preservation societies.
Mr. McLendon also was directly involved in helping cities and counties throughout Florida and the Gulf Coast recover from the damaging effects of every hurricane making landfall in the United States since 2004. |
